Meet the Mana Family

Patty Perlman

Owner + Teacher

Patty's has been teaching yoga in Brisbane for 10 years. Her teaching style is Vinyasa with a mixture of Anusara and Iyengar principles that emphasise the foundations of alignment, awareness and breath flow. All classes are thoughtfully sequenced, informative and draw from themes + experiences we can all relate to.

Over the past 12 years Patty has studied with:
– Douglas Allen, Buddhism Professor of University of Maine 2004
– Craig and Shane Perkins, founders of Yandara Yoga Institute in Todos Santos, Mexico 2008 + 2018
– Gopala, founder of Rainbow Kids Yoga, Worldwide 2010

Esther Wallace-Hill

Owner + Teacher

Esther has been practicing yoga for over 14 years and followed her heart to share her passion for yoga and people. Esther draws her inspiration from functional movements, gymnastics and power yoga. Esther loves challenging your strength and stamina and finding the edge of your comfort zone!

Dr Laura Elliot

Teacher

Laura has a love for health and the human body. She's an experienced yoga and meditation teacher with a masters in chiropractic, honours in health science + bachelor of biomedical science.

Jackson Lennan

Teacher

Jackson Lennan is a Musculoskeletal Therapist and Personal Trainer, as well as founder of Lennan Fitness. With over a decade of experience, and having earned a Bachelor of Science in Musculoskeletal Therapy, Jackson approaches his practice from a ‘movement first’ perspective. He has helped dozens of people achieve pain-free movement, strength and a quality of life they were told was not possible. In addition to his university studies, Jackson is forever a student of movement, with guidance received from Ido Portal in various workshops and continual online coaching.

Brendan OLoughlin

Teacher

Brendan is a clinical naturopath, yoga practitioner and acupuncturist. He's practiced yoga for over 15 years and taught since 2010. Brendan leads a creative and strong vinyasa style class granting you room to move and listen to your body. His yin classes are beautifully sequenced + his workshops often include acupuncture.

Sheila Ferguson

Teacher

Sheila has been weaving her way through Brisbane’s yoga community for close to ten years since landing here from her home in Nova Scotia, Canada. With her teachings rooted in the Anusara lineage you can expect a strong focus on alignment and expansion, while Sheila’s powerful yet accessible classes and grounded translation of esoteric prose are just some of what she’s come to be known for.

With over 500 hours of training Sheila has taught thousands of classes over the past seven years under the guidance of Julie Smerdon, Noah Maze, BJ Galvan, Lizzie Lasater, Lorin Roche, and Elena Brower. Sheila’s teachings are inspired by the great outdoors, her relationships, grief, and most recently motherhood. She lives and teaches from a place of compassion and it is her greatest hope that her offerings highlight the divine in all bodies, experiences, and challenges that life has to offer.

Danique Hanson

Teacher

Coming from a background in Gymnastics, I first began practicing Yoga as a way to stay connected to my love of strong, flexible body movement. The more I embraced the Yoga lifestyle, the more I experienced the overwhelming benefits it had to offer the mind, body and spirit.

My practice helped me to overcome a long term struggle with anxiety and body image issues, as well as allowing me to feel more connected to the world around me. From this grew a great desire to share Yoga with others, so I made the decision to leave my decade long career as a Bookkeeper to pursue this passion.

Through teaching I aim to inspire those around me to live life to its fullest potential. My classes have an emphasis on building strength in the body, regaining and maintaining mobility, all while finding those moments of connected bliss & stillness throughout the practice. As well as Vinyasa Yoga, I also teach Barre, Restorative / Yin Yoga, Meditation, Kids Yoga and Acro with my partner, Rhys.

I have a great love of inversions & I enjoy the simple things in life, like getting outdoors to explore new places, travelling, reading, hanging out with my Italian Greyhound, Bambi and spending time with my loved ones. I have an ever growing collection of plants, and I am incredibly honoured to be a LululemonAmbassador for the James Street, Brisbane Store.

I have learnt that anything is attainable if you are willing to dedicate your mind + body + soul to it and look forward to sharing my journey in both business and life, with those who feel connected to what I do and what I stand for.

Fiamma Frisone

Teacher

Fiamma was first drawn to yoga when she instinctively found herself on a mat in India in 2015. Fully immersed in the practice, she found the combination of mindful movement and conscious breathing, allowing to delve deeper into her own truth. Today, Fiamma teaches from a place of vulnerability to create an open, loving and healing space for students to practice. As yoga continues to have a profound impact on her life, her passion for sharing this knowledge and experience with people insatiably grows. Fiammas classes are a combination of heated Vinyasa flow and soft, restorative asanas to create a balanced and well-rounded practice. ``My hope is that you always leave one of my classes feeling like you have learnt something about yourself, created space for growth or simply accepted what you see and feel. Yoga is an ongoing exploration of your inner world, through it you begin to see that the source of your own peace and happiness lies within.``

Rocio Marte

Teacher

Rocio was born in the Dominican Republic but spent many years in New York and Madrid working in fine arts, jewelry and fashion design. Rocio took a big leap of faith in 2016 and travelled to India to practice and study yoga. This changed her life forever.

Rocio completed a 200 hour Hatha training in India in an Ayurvedic Ashram. 800 hour Certificate IV in Purna Yoga at Byron Yoga Centre. Modular 50 hour trainings in Yin Yoga, Remedial and Restorative Yoga. Currently studying a Diploma in Advanced Yoga Teaching, Business Management and Ayurveda.

Her teaching style is alignment focused with a calm, slow flow vibe and always includes breath awareness and functional movement strategies, finding a time to integrate a complete experience of asana, pranayama and meditation.

Brittney Kleyn

Teacher

Forever a dedicated student, Brittney completed her 200 hour yoga teacher training in 2018 with Creature Yoga in Byron Bay.

She is currently completing her 500 hour certification with her teachers Bess Prescott and Tahl Rinsky.

Brittney has also studied with Rose Baudin, Dena Kingsberg, Clive Sheridan, Patrick Beach and Carling Harps. As a passionate Crossfitter, Britney also enjoys bringing elements of functional training to her classes. As well as a trained Les Mills Group Fitness Instructor, she also continues to report for ABC News and work as a freelance producer/presenter.

In the process of the project, this serial sweater found the stillness of yoga. She is now grateful for the privilege to share that in complementing her own training.

Ash Caeiro

Teacher

Ash started practicing Yoga in Brisbane and has been taught by some of Brisbane's best across many studios and intensives. Whilst originally a power hungry hot yoga student, he found his pace in the more mindful challenges of Yin and VinYin. He likes to take your practice past just the asanas and really get into the mind and allow for introspection. You'll see him pop up from time to time covering power classes too, where the challenge will definitely be on.
